I absolutely love this final season. It took me until the 4th episode for me to see that they are trying something else to finish the series. Instead of waiting to the final episode to either “cut to black” or “speed through to the future and death of beloved central characters”, it looks like they are taking the entire season to say goodbye to every character we care about. They are doing this without sacrificing narrative devices and biting social commentary. Me suspects that if they weren’t told to end the show that we would probably have had another meandering season with the social commentary diluted in soap opera but thank the Lord we got this instead.
